NHS Inpatient Advocacy

KAG provides professional advocacy to inpatients in psychiatric hospitals in Richmond and East Surrey.

The service is for any patient on wards in those hospitals, whether they are detained or voluntary, and the advocate visits each ward on a weekly basis.

An inpatient advocate supports people with queries they have with their stay in hospital as well as other matters.

The advocate can assist with talking to doctors at a ward round as well as helping to deal with issues such as housing, care homes, benefits, etc., and with other arrangements such as when a patient is discharged from hospital.
